Job Posting – Director of Finance Operations-
Creative Team Solutions
CTS (Creative Team Solutions) helps non-profit organizations serving vulnerable people to focus on their primary mandate. We provide economic value to organizations by providing an outsourced alternative to payroll, human resources, finance, information technology and executive leadership.
Overall Responsibilities
· The Director of Finance Operations is accountable for the day to day administration of the financial processes for CTS and client organizations (which includes extensive report writing and reviews).
· The Director of Finance Operations oversees the implementation of all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to Finance under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) while ensuring that the organization’s mission, vision and values is at the forefront of decision making within the department.
The Director of Finance Operations is responsible to provide mentorship to their direct supports and at times others working at CTS.
Currently the Director of Finance Operations oversees 7 client organizations, which have the same ministry reporting deadlines.
Position Accountabilities
1. Strategic Leadership
· Provide input in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
· Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans related to finance
· Acts as an advocate for change that will help the organization accomplish strategic objectives
· In conjunction with the CFO act as a liaison in all financial matters of CTS with internal and external contacts, to include maintaining a good working relationship with all partners and outside government departments, organizations, etc.
· Report risk issues to the CFO
· Participate in key decisions as a member of the senior management team
· Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile in accordance with policy and standard accounting practices
· Commitment to building strong relationships with all stakeholders; providing timely and accurate advice to aid in achieving organizational goals for excellence
2. Financial Leadership:
CTS
· Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory financial and reporting requirements
· Provide input into the development of all Financial Policies, Procedures and Best Practices the accounting, client relations , legal, tax, areas
· Provide day to day financial operations of contracted subsidiary as directed
· Responsible for the accuracy of the General Ledger and all sub systems
· Ensures financial periods are completed as scheduled
· Ensures monthly and audit working papers are completed and accurate
· Provide input for and compliance with established control systems
· Monitor the annual budgeting and planning process to actuals
· Manage chargeback process including budgeting and invoicing
Clients
· Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory financial and reporting requirements
· Provide input into the design of and completed reports, tools and metrics that enable clients to accurately
· Responsible for the accuracy of the General Ledger and all sub systems for all client companies
· understand the impact of business results; facilitate understanding of the financial and non-financial results of the business organization
· Ensures financial periods are completed as scheduled
· Ensures monthly and audit working papers are completed and accurate
· Provide consolidated reports to CFO
· Works with CFO to develop all Financial Policies, Procedures and Best Practices for respective clients.
· Ensures timely and quality documentation, including but not limited to, financial reports, service agreements, invoices, audit requirements, service statistics, outcome data for CFO, Ministry and other external and internal stakeholders
· Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies
· Manages the audit for client companies
3. Related to Human Resources
· Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, collective agreement (where applicable) and application laws
· Evaluates the performance of direct reports on a regular basis, including annual performance reviews. Ensures the appropriate application of performance management, which may include progressive discipline. Holds employees accountable for performance standards
· Leads others by inspiring confidence and builds commitment to the organization’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan
4. Related to Committee Functions
· Participates on CTS and client committees as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) .
5. Related to Health and Safety
· Carries out responsibilities following the recommended guidelines of all the organization’s Health and Safety Programs, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Ministry of Health, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. Promotes a healthy and safe work environment
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
· Line Authority (direct reports) – Payroll and Benefit Manager; Accounting Supervisor (AR/AP)
· Functional Authority (indirect reports) – all employees in relation to the financial operation
· Staff Authority (advisory) – all employees
Working Schedule and Work Environment
Normal hours of work are 40 per week, but may be required to work beyond that to ensure deadlines are met. Considering the professional nature of this position, the Director of Finance Operations will attend necessary events outside normal working hours and work a flexed work day as required (example: Client Board Meetings)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to low or moderate levels of the office noise and occasionally loud levels of noise; frequent distractions and interruptions, pressure from multiple demands and occasionally short deadlines.
Qualifications:
The Director of Finance Operations should be a Chartered Professional Accountant ( CPA) with 7+ years of progressively responsible financial management experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the non-profit sector. A degree in accounting or business administration is an asset.

Part-time Developmental Support Workers
Closing Date: Ongoing
Responsibility: Providing supports to people with developmental disability in their home to live fulfilled lives.
MUST HAVE Requirements:
Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance issued by local police station within the last 12 months
Valid Ontario G2 or G driver’s license
Completed Health & Safety Awareness Certificate (free training available online at www.labour.gov.on.ca)
Other Requirements:
Completed/currently pursuing a related education (D.S.W, C.Y.W or equivalent) in the area of developmental disabilities and/or a demonstrated interest
Proficiency in the use of computer programs such as Word processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, E-mail and Internet.
Preferred:
Current certification in CPR/First Aid
