Part-time Developmental Support Workers
Closing Date: Ongoing
Responsibility: Providing supports to people with developmental disability in their home to live fulfilled lives.
MUST HAVE Requirements:
- Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance issued by local police station within the last 12 months
- Valid Ontario G2 or G driver’s license
- Completed Health & Safety Awareness Certificate (free training available online at www.labour.gov.on.ca)
- Completed/currently pursuing a related education (D.S.W, C.Y.W or equivalent) in the area of developmental disabilities and/or a demonstrated interest
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs such as Word processing, Spreadsheets, Databases, E-mail and Internet.
- Current certification in CPR/First Aid
- Related experience
- Access to vehicle

Community Living London is currently recruiting for a temporary (one year) Direct Support Professional position. This is a Job share opportunity where the successful candidate will share a full time DSW 2 classification position while working 20 hours a week.
EDUCATION: D.S.W or C.Y.W Graduate, B.A. in Social Sciences or proven equivalency by an accredited college or university
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Current First Aid CPR, CPI, Valid G class driver’s license is required
SALARY: $24.78 per hour + 4% vacation (+8% lieu of benefits after successful completion of 520 hours)
Substantive experience in supporting people with an intellectual disability, dual diagnosis, obsessive compulsive disorder and aggressive behavioural challenges.
Case Management experience essential.
Experience in fulfilling leadership roles.
Knowledge and experience in developing and facilitating Individual Support Plans in cooperation with Support Networks.
Demonstrated experience in utilizing computer software for data collection and other purposes.
Demonstrated experience in utilizing NVCI (CPI) techniques.
Experience in administering and managing medication.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with adaptive communication

Ability to assist team members with carrying out developed protocols
