What are Leisure Activities?

Leisure Activities offer a flexible mix of specialized and inclusive opportunities for adults who have an intellectual disability. Adults can choose from a variety of daytime courses or register for small-group social activities. Activities are for adults who don’t require additional support or can bring supports with them.
How Do Leisure Activities Work?

Community Leisure Connections
Small-group activities evenings and weekends connect people with similar interests. Activities such as attending a play at the Grand Theatre or dinner and a movie with friends promote awareness of what is available in the community.

Access Extra!
Our quarterly Access Extra! lists a variety of daytime leisure opportunities offered at various locations in the community. Adults can sign up for a session of weekly classes, ranging from cooking and woodworking to yoga, karate, crafts, computers or Healthy Hands.

Neighbourhood Access
Neighbourhood Access works with the South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre to develop, facilitate and coordinate activities on location. We also connect people to opportunities in their neighbourhood.

Recreational Bowling League
Our recreational bowling league operates in partnership with Special Olympics London. Bowlers meet weekly at venues around the city.
Nominal fees are charged for all Leisure Activities.
